Tema: Problemas para conectarme a internet [Movistar en Linux]

mm ni idea pero a mi me paso algo parecido con un driver de wifi, andaba mas lento que catarata de manjar, le instale un driver a con el fcuter ?? algo asi y le tube que poner un rmod algo al inicio y funciona bien.. cuando llegue a la casa te puedo dar mas info pero parte por tirarte un lspci para ver que onda tu tarjeta.

pd: porque usas el modo Bridge? tiene un módem y no un router? porque si llamas a la compañía te lo cambian, o sea yo he cambiado dos veces el mio porque la cosa se chisporroteaba sólo :-)

No creo que sea un problema relacionado con el hardware, si conecto el modem a otro router tengo internet sin problemas, pero no consigo una buena conexion modem-pc. Del primer modo queda una conexión router a router y luego al pc, lo que es funcional pero incomodo para el uso cotidiano

He chequeado el tutorial, creo que consigo conectarme en modo bridge y que estas distribuciones ya tienen instalado aquellos controladores por defecto. Sé que consigo conectarme porque me carga Google, es la única web que me carga, ni si quiera me carga la pagina de inicio de ubuntu o mint, en google.cl puedo buscar palabras y me carga la lista de respuestas, incluso tiene la opcion de autocompletado, pero no puedo entrar a ninguna otra web. Es como un problema de MTU o de DNS, aunque ya he tratado cambiar el tamaño MTU y usar OpenDNS

Sobre por qué prefiero el modo bridge, bueno es solo una maña, en este modo todos los puertos están abiertos y es una conexión más directa. El año pasado lo configuré como router y me seguía dando una pésima conexion conectandolo directamente al pc. Por cierto este es mi segundo módem, ya habia probado con otro anteriormente (mismos malos resultados), actualmente ocupo el modem ZTE ZXV10 W300. Estaría dispuesto volverlo al modo router para seguir tratando llegar a una conexion modem-pc (o mejor dicho router, creo que tengo un problema con el término xd).

Mañana tengo pensado llamar a movistar a ver si me sugieren algo. Tal vez tengan problemas con el setvidor DNS en linux, aunque no me explico que solo yo tengo problemas para conectarme

Lo que sea necesario, aunque tiendo a pensar que el problema es de Movistar, he chequeado en internet y hay mas gente que ha sufrido por esto sin llegar a buen puerto...

Me estoy convenciendo de que el problema es de movistar, de otro modo cómo se podría explicar que tenga buena conexión ocupando modem a router y luego a pc y mala conexión ocupando modem a pc (que es más directo y debiera funcionar mejor)

Probé muchos MTU, eso lo hice el año pasado. Solo los iba cambiando desde la misma interfaz de ubuntu, cuando uno crea una conexión DSL te da la opción de elegir tamaño MTU o bien que se elija de manera automática

Sí lo más razonable es que por allí vaya el asunto. Voy a bajar el live cd de ubuntu y voy a tratar cambiar esos valores

la solución más rasca pero efectiva es conectarse con windows y usar tcpoptimizer para ver el mtu correcto, con ese valor pruebas en el linux y nos cuentas.

El TCP Optimizer me arroja esto

Igual me desconcierta que diga que el maximo en mi modem es 1452 y me recomienda 1480 xD

Metiendo mano a la configuración del modem me di cuenta que al configurarlo como router sí tengo conexión a internet de manera aceptable, así que tengo plan B al menos. Antes de migrar voy a tratar un poco más conectarme en modo bridge, me gusta conectarme a internet sin preocuparme de los puertos ni de las limitaciones propias de los routers

Ahora bien, estoy tratando cambiar el tamaño MTU por terminal (por la interfaz de ubuntu no hubo caso). Para esto necesito modificar un archivo que se encuentra en etc/ppp/peers pero no tengo los permisos necesarios desde el live cd para entrar allí, he tratado con sudo dir etc/ppp/peers pero no sirve, me sigue diciendo que no tengo los permisos necesarios . El archivo en cuestión se llama dns-provider, es creado cuando configuras tu conexion por pppoeconf en la terminal

Siento ser tan novato, cómo puedo entrar a esa carpeta desde un live cd o usb?

has tratado usando una distro respetable?, como fedora por ejemplo (para descartar que el problema sea el MTU y no la distro.

Pone "sudo gedit /etc/ppp/peers" , así podrás editar ese archivo como administrador

Acabo de probar Fedora, mismo resultado, consigo abrir google.cl, buscar palabras pero no entrar a webs

En ubuntu me sirvió el comando de 44rc4, pude modificar el archivo, probé varios mtu, pero el mismo resultado

No me queda más que despedirme de mi antigua conexion bridge y ocupar el modem como router, de este modo sí tengo acceso a internet sin mayor problema, ademas supongo que abrir uno que otro puerto no debiera arruinar mi vida

Sí puedes cerrarlo, en un principio no tenía acceso a internet de ningun modo en estas distribuciones, ahora sí, y además me tenté con el fedora

Me gustaba el modo bridge porque en aquel modo todos los puertos están abiertos, de modo que uno podía usar un programa p2p, juegos online, lo que sea sin preocuparse de configurar ningun solo puerto. Como si fuera un modem que conecta directamente el pc a internet

Tengo una última duda al respecto, mi router tiene la opción DMZ, el cual abriría automáticamente todos los puertos en los pc que conecte al router ¿Es tan así? o de todos modos siempre existirá diferencia entre ocupar un modem a un router?
